Call for abstracts: 2nd Intl Conference on Culinary Tourism

Sin categoría

Me llegó un aviso de call for papers para un congreso sobre turismo culinario que se hará el año que viene en San Francisco. Lo comparto con ustedes.

As a member of the academic/research field, we are writing to advise you that we are now accepting abstracts for the Research Track at the 2nd International Conference on Culinary Tourism to be held April 30 – May 3, 2005 in San Francisco, California, USA. Presenters of selected topics will be given 30-45 minutes to present their papers, research, and answer questions. Many industry leaders, as well as the media, will be in attendance. The deadline to submit your proposal is December 20, 2004. If you are interested, please follow these instructions:

1) Prepare a title for your presentation (10 words or less) and a sub-title. This is how your session will appear in the program so think of something catchy and creative. What would make someone want to attend your session? Example: “Culinary Tourism in Northeastern Brazil: Barriers and Facilitators to Entry”

2) Prepare 100 words or less the subject you propose to present. This is where you explain the concept you intend to present to our review team.

3) Will you present alone or as part of a team? Please send the names/titles of all parties who will present in your session. We will publish your name and/or that of your team, and your topic in the pre-conference program.

4) Submit your information by December 20, 2004 to conference@culinarytourism.org as well as cmhall@business.otago.ac.nz. Regular email or Word document formats are acceptable.

Please keep in mind that you may require a visa to enter the United States for the conference. Also, we are pleased to announce that this year, we are offering a very low registration rate for students (approximately 1/2 off of regular registration cost-rates to be announced soon). The discounted rate will be available to any full-time students of any institution of higher learning in any country. We are committed to making it possible for more students to attend the conference!

Decisions regarding papers will be made by January 10, 2005 and authors of papers selected for presentation will be notified by email.
